By CHRISTOPHER HAGE

With ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ less than six months away, director JJ Abrams and crew have decided to treat us with a special behind-the-scenes featurette to whet our appetites before the next trailer is released this Australian spring.

Unveiled at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there’s definitely a lot to enjoy here – including a sneak peak at the return of our three favourite space-heroes, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Fans also get a closer look at the new physical sets, as well as a glimpse at some of the action set pieces from the film. Simon Pegg is even on set to share his excitement, playing an undisclosed alien creature!

It’s been another big week for Star Wars fans. A new Han Solo film was announced, with Lawrence Kasdan (‘The Empire Strikes Back’) and son Jon Kasdan writing, and Phil Lord & Chris Miller (‘Lego Movie”, 22 Jump Street) directing. Lucasfilm also revealed Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) has been brought in to direct the final installment of the new trilogy, ‘Star Wars Episode IX’. To listen to what we thought of Jurassic World, check out our podcast here.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 17, 2015.
